Balayage

Balayage at The Colour Bar is $160. Many people choose balayage because gives the hair a very natural, dimensional effect. The resulting subtle balayage hairstyle mimics a natural, sun-kissed effect that has been in high demand from celebrities and models. Like ombre, balayage highlights are cost-effective because they don’t require frequent touchups, since the hair at the top is kept darker.

A message from our founder + master hairstylist, Lorena Martinez in honor of hairstylist appreciation day 💖

If I knew the level of responsibility that comes with being a hairstylist, I am not sure if I would have just jumped to quit my accounting job in the Silicon Valley and open a salon out of beauty school.

I didn’t know what it meant then, but I am glad I didn’t. Unless you are a hairstylist, it's hard to describe the amount of love, trust, vulnerability, and knowledge that goes into this career.

Being a hairstylist means that I get to be a part of my client’s life in so many ways.

I get to be one of the first ones to know that they are pregnant because they want to make sure it's safe for them to color their hair.

I get to see them experience the process of finding love and go from dating, to engagement, to marriage, to kids.

I also get to be the person that holds space for them to cry in my chair because of heartache, infertility, divorces, death in their family and health issues.

I get to create a safe space for them to be heard and to be pampered and taken care of because most of the time women are the caretakers and givers.

I have the honor to take care of them and to make it all about them.

I have amazing clients that trust me, support me, and also hold space for me as they see me navigate my growth from a single chair operating hairstylist to a multi-location owner with my husband as I grow my family as well.

I can’t help but feel honored, loved, and grateful that I have the ability to be part of women’s lives and learn from them and grow from their perspective.

Here I thought I would be touching people’s hair, but really I am touching people's hearts and that is one of the most fulfilling things about being a hairstylist.

On top of that I get to share this feeling with our amazing stylists at The Colour Bar
