Born and raised in Sacramento, Janessa comes from a family of Hairstylists. Her great-grandfather owned his own barbershop and for years serviced his town of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. This same barbershop supported his family and became the setting of most of her grandmother’s childhood stories. Hearing stories about Hair Cutting all her life; she would practice on her friends and other cousins for fun. Her cousin enrolled in Federico’s Beauty Institute and naturally after one tour of the school she enrolled herself. While attending there, she led her team to win the Creative Color Challenge against the entire school and also assisted her teacher in teaching an extensions class. Her excitability and eagerness to learn has always benefited her throughout her career.
Since graduating she has worked and managed other local salons in Sacramento; and has built a grand network of friends in the Salon Community.
