What’s in My Beach Bag?
Packing for a beach day can be overwhelming because you never know where the day will take you. Here is a list of my “Beach Day Essentials” that I won’t dip my toes in the water without:
-
Davines SU
Let’s start with the obvious Davines SU Hair Milk and Aftersun is in my bag anytime I’m going to be spending time in the sun. The Hair Milk can be sprayed on wet or dry hair and is really good at detangling. I like having the Aftersun because it rehydrates my skin after spending time in the sun and smells amazing!
-
Kindle/Headphones
One of the things I love most about a beach day is time to just sit and read. I find in my everyday life it’s easy to push off reading because all the other things that “need to be done”. Being on the beach or by the pool is the perfect place to read because there is nothing else you need to be doing. Whether it’s reading on my Kindle or listening to Audible, I’m in prime relaxation mode.
-
Sunglasses
The amount of times I’ve been amped to go spend the afternoon by the pool just to be disappointed when I get there because I forgot my sunglasses at home is countless. I’ve actually gotten to the point that I leave a pair of sunglasses in the tote bag I always use for beach days to guarantee I at least have a pair.
-
Unbrush Brush
Hailee, a stylist here at The Colour Bar, found this detangling brush online and introduced it to the team. I cannot live without it! It detangles my hair so easily and gently, making it perfect for prepping my hair before a beach day and for detangling after a long day in the sun, water and wind.
-
Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen
If I’m being completely honest, I was slow to the SPF game. I liked how my freckles would pop out after some time in the sun and didn’t want to jeopardize my tan. This year I found the Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen and fell in love! I love the nonsticky texture it has and that there is no whitecast from it no matter what skin tone you are. It’s become not only a beach bag staple but an everyday must have for me.
-
Insulated Water Bottle
Depending on where you’re going to be spending the day, water may be hard to access. I like bring a large insulated water bottle with a TON of ice. This gives me cold water the whole time in the sun to ensure I’m staying hydrated.
Until Next Time,
Josie 🙂
